Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family with the benefits of community service. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children of Lucious and Jessie Selmon. They grew up on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two soccer. He was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. All three became All-America. The year 1973 was the first time Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for one season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award for being the top lineman in America. In his time as Oklahoma's starting quarterback The Sooners recorded a 32-1-1 record and won two national championships. In his role as a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded an award for his third year in 1975. Selmon received a bachelor's diploma from the University of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy's fourth service consisted of ten hours a week as a volunteer in the college. In Tampa the Buccaneers, he was a player for the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. Also, he began his career in the field of business. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He also worked with the following organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when, in 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of the 10 outstanding youngsters across the nation. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing 256 pounds. He captained his college team in 1975. He was hired by the University of South Florida in 1993 as the associate director of sports. He has been inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave its Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Jr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
