Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a writer from Greece, a syndicated journalist as well as a businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has worked as an actor, journalist, philanthropist and author for over ten years. Her role also includes being the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. Her birthplace was in Greece and relocated to England at the age of 16. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in economics. She was the first person who was not from the UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Her success as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she completed her studies. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice-portal that provided an honest assessment of the current politics. She was able to get several prominent contributors who posted their thoughts on culture and politics. Arianna's fame was first noticed in 2003 when she became an independent candidate for the California recall vote in order to replace then-Governor Davis. Apart from this she also was the leader of the Detroit project that promoted the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on its list for the Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their top 100 list in 2010. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. Then she was appointed the president of AOL's media group. The group included several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are journalists and consultants in management. Though she was close to her father, it was her relationship with her mother which shaped her life. When she was a teen she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. In her 16th year, she returned to the UK for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the college debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned an MA in Economics. After her graduation she became a columnist, critic and TV host. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She began to write books with his guidance to edit.
